Oliver Hibert's Minor Arcana

The Waite-Colman tarot is one of the most copied, adapted, changed or used as a base for another deck, yet each year new 'clones' keep on popping up and flooding the marked. Some of these are illegal copies, other have had more work done upon them, and that is the least you could say of this deck!

More than just another remake or reinterpretation, this is a rejuvenation and the energy just jumps of off every card now (not only the energy but also the colours, this is definitely not a deck for wallflowers but for man and woman who dare to make a statement.

The card are small-sized high quality cardstock, it is the kind of deck you can easily put in your pocket or small purse or jacket pocket or...and then in one move flip them out in the open and dazzle or shock your compagny (or do both at the same time even).

For the moment it's an majors only deck only, but the artist Oliver Hibert is working on the full 78 cards and hopes to have them out in the latter part of 2015, available from it's publisher Von Zos (where you can already get the majors only now and get a reduction when you get the minors when they become available)

Tarot Saka

Indonesian decks are few in number and extremely hard to obtain outside Indonesia, so I was extremely lucky to obtain this one directly from the artist (here is is blog where you can see more images from this deck and also contact him if you would like to obtain the tarot)

It is a nice 78-card WCS remake in warm colours and with Indonesian influences that takes the Waite-Colman's vision on a voyage to this exotic and far away archipelago.

8 Bit tarot by Indigo Kelleigh

There are decks for every taste, there are decks for every mood even, and this one is definitely for those who can take life with a smile and who need or want to put that smile into their tarot collection (and or readings even).
It’s a Wait-Coleman remake with may be specially interesting for those among us who remember the arcade games from back in the 80ies and their distinct graphical depiction, bet even those who don’t or had no interest in those may enjoy this deck! The images are rendered in the rounded-pixilated style typical to those videogames mentioned and breathe a fun lighthearted atmosphere.
During the creation process the artist released on a (more-or-less)-regular parts of the deck, 6 packs in all containing between them all 78 cards.
Sadly the deck is on the verge of going OOP so if you want one you get it from the artist here or at Tarot Garden

Waite J.K. Tarot by Seigan Nakajima

There are many WCS* decks out there but few are this elegant and even 'trippy' (in a good way) as the Japanese Waite J.K. Tarot, so i was vary lucky to obtain this deck from 1975 - what is by coincidence also my year of birth what makes it extra special. The deck follows closely the Pamela Coleman Smith originals closely but also some personal touches and changes.

* aka the Rider Waite Tarot, but as Mr. Rider was only the original publisher why let him take credit for more than that. I, and many others among who tarot authorities like Frank K Jensen prefer to credit the persons behind the deck namely Edward Waite & Pamela Coleman Smith.
